Press Release Body = With India moving ahead fast on the technology track, many
international IT manufacturer companies are eyeing the country as a potential market
for their products. Taiwanese companies are also one of these world's largest IT
manufacturers and are focusing on Indian market, as it continues to follow a
tremendously growing trend in the last few years. But the path to reach Indian
market remains not very smooth for them, when these companies continue to face a few
technical and genuine problems in India.

Speaking to itVARnews, Managing Director, Asustek Computer Inc., Andrew Tsui said,
"The major problem we face while doing business in India is of terminologies. Here
the words and terminologies used for different things differ that from the worldwide
terminologies. Also the overall cost of business increases in many ways."

Adding more to this Managing Director, Gigabyte Technology (India) Ltd. said,
"Language is one of the major barrier here, to cope up with the sam Taiwanese
companies has to rely on local people for all their business transactions, so there
is an indirect relationship. Secondly, India is a huge and diversified country with
different states and people having different state laws and business norms. Thus,
these things also need to be taken in consideration while doing business here."

General Manager, Hi Touch Imaging Technologies, Bill Wu commented, "We lack proper
infrastructure in India, so the material needs to be imported here. Besides this,
the cost of transportation and components to take the material from one place to
another makes it a cumbersome process."

It seems like Taiwan based companies are not the only community facing problems
while doing the bilateral trade. When itVARnews contacted the channel partners
asking for their say on the issue, following facts were revealed:

Proprietor, R K Impex, Rohit Bajaj said, "Basically the problem is with both China
as well as Taiwan based companies. These companies do not define their quality
standards previously. Hence, service support remains a problem. Issues like late
warranty and quality standards maintenance are the matters where these companies lag
behind. Such things affect the buyer's market and distributors and other channel
partners suffer loses."

Whereas, Director, Angel Computers, Dharmendra Jain says, "There is a satisfactory
demand for products manufactured by Taiwanese companies and we face minimal problems
regarding the service support, as the products are of satisfactory quality and known
Taiwanese brands like Asus, Gigabyte and BenQ etc. are doing well in the market with
least complaints."

Analyzing the whole situation, a conclusion may be drawn that however, the problems
do exist on both the sides but the fact cannot be denied that the Taiwan
manufacturer companies are playing an important role in the Indian IT and in a way
both are being profited mutually. Besides that one thing also remains clear that if
Taiwan based companies have to establish their self in the Indian market they'll
need to learn the tricks of the trade of the Indian IT market providing the Indian
customers with what they desire.
